Described as “porch-stompin’, fiddle-sawin’, bass-spankin’, high-powered hootenanny!”, The Bodarks sprouted up on the North Texas scene in 2012 and have been a part of the 33 Restaurant Group family ever since. Jeff Brooks -The Bodarks' banjo, guitar, stomp-box, harmonica, and vocalist- was recently diagnosed with cancer. It will require some pretty heavy work on his mouth and throat, in addition to reconstructive surgery and speech therapy.
Join us anytime on Sunday, March 27th to benefit Jeff Brooks in his battle with cancer. Not only will a portion of all sales contribute back to his medical intervention and recovery, but we've also partnered with the McKinney Musician Relief Fund, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, to host a raffle and benefit concert!
Starting at 4pm, we'll be hosting the below local artists to help raise funds. The live music benefit concert will include short sets from each band from 4pm-8pm. All donations collected at the stage during the concert will benefit Jeff.
*Wooden Nickel
*Cafe Society
*Maylee Thomas Band
*The Bodarks
*The Buffalo Ruckus
God willing and the creek don't rise, Jeff will be back in the saddle by summer, and singing, "Yippee Kiyay" without any impediment beyond his usual whiskey-bent slurs. And, as The Bodarks will be making the most of their down-time for some recalibrating, we suspect you'll witness a new style of Bodarkin' next time you see them.
