35th ANNUAL GOLF TOURNAMENT

Thank you for registering to attend the 35th Annual Plano Chamber & Mercedes-Benz of Plano Golf Tournament!
 
 
 
Please note the following reminders about the tournament.
 
THE BASICS
 

• Date: Monday, September 28th
• Location: The Courses at Watters Creek 7201 Chase Oaks Blvd, Plano, TX 75025
• Tournament Schedule (New Timing)
  • 7:00 AM – Check in opens
  • 7:00 AM – 8:00 AM – Check in, Breakfast provided by Bojangles, Driving Range Open
  • 8:00 AM – Shotgun Start
  • 12:30 PM – Lunch is Served and awards  
  • 2:00 PM – Back to the office and get to work (Optional)

• Parking: Onsite parking should be no problem; we are the only group on site that morning.
• Golf Bags: When you approach the main entrance there is a walkway to the right of the building that goes down to the carts which will be lined up in order. You can take your bag down to your cart and then come up the back stairs to registration. There will be non-tournament carts to take over to the driving range.
• Registration: Registration and breakfast will be in the Traditions Pavillion.  

• Prize Shots: At registration, you will be able to purchase some fun options including a mulligan ball, and chances to win great prizes. Just $25!
• Hole in One: Hole 16 is our $20K Hole in One shot. All rules and restrictions must be followed to qualify. 
• Photos: Smile! Scott Peek will be on the course taking team photos which will be printed and available to pick up after the tournament. A fun souvenir or alibi.

• Shotgun Start: Each team of four will start at a different hole on the course. Your golf cart will have your starting hole information as well as a map.  
• SCRAMBLE: The concept of a Scramble tournament is simple. Each player takes their shot. Then all players play their next shot from the best previous shot. For example. Paul hits a 300-yard dinger right down the fairway while John, George and Ringo all slice into the woods. Then all four players will play their second stroke from Paul’s ball location.
• Pace: It’s important to keep up the pace of play. This doesn’t mean you have to play rushed, but it does mean some things can help speed up your pace. For example, if Ringo’s tee shots are consistently bad, then it might be best for Ringo do just skip the tee shots and contribute with his great putting skills.
• Playthrough: If you find that the team behind you is consistently waiting for you and there seems to be a large difference in pace of play, you might consider letting them play through. Leap frogging your group is not the best solution because then they will have to come back to that hole at the end. If you plan to let the group behind you pass, just wait at the next tee box and let them know you are letting them through. It’s a great way to take the pressure off of you and to let them play at their more natural pace.
• Maximum Hole Scores: The Maximum score for each hole is bogey (1 over par). If the par for a hole is 4, you need to pick up and move to the next hole if you cannot score a 4 or better. Mark your card as a bogey for that hole. This is intended to keep up the pace of play. If a team takes 10 shots to finish a hole there will certainly be a traffic jam behind them. On a best ball tournament, this should not be much of a factor.

• What to Bring
  • Sunblock, bugspray, a wide brimmed hat. You’ve been outdoors before, you know what to do.
  • Golfers will receive 1 drink ticket and water bottles.
• Weather
  • The forecast is 80’s and sunny. Starting in the low 70’s and hitting the 80’s as we are finishing up. Layers are good!
• Attire: Pretty loose dress code. Not cutoff sleeves or cutoff shorts. If it didn’t come that way, don’t wear it. We suggest that you dress to stay cool and comfortable.
