DESCRIPTION:The Plano Parks & Recreation Department will hold an open house on Thursday\, June 29 from 6-8 p.m. at Plano Event Center as the department works to update its master plan. This meeting is for residents of all ages\, as the department hopes to solicit feedback from all residential demographics  in Plano.\n\n\n\nThe master plan will build upon past frameworks to create a vision for parks\, recreation facilities\, trails and open spaces for the next 20 years. Plano Parks and Recreation's existing comprehensive plan was created in 1982 and has undergone many updates over the years.\n\n\n\nThe department hopes to gain helpful feedback from all who utilize Plano's parks\, trails and recreation centers\, Chief Park Planner Renee Jordan said.\n\n\n\nThe department is also reaching out to city boards and commissions for ideas and feedback during this public input period\, as well as homeowners associations\, sports associations\, Plano ISD\, running and cycling clubs\, the Plano Chamber of Commerce and other local organizations.\n\n\n\nCopies of the department's current comprehensive plan as well as information regarding the master plan process can be found at www.playinplano.org.
