U.S. Chamber Awards Plano Chamber of Commerce with 5-Star Accreditation
Plano, TX - The United States Chamber of Commerce this week awarded the Plano Chamber of Commerce with 5-Star Accreditation, the highest rating, for its sound policies, effective organizational procedures, and positive impact on the community.
“Accreditation validates a chamber as having programs that benefit their local economy and for positively influencing action in their community,” said Raymond P. Towle, IOM, CAE, U.S. Chamber Executive Director of Political Affairs and Federation Relations. “We applaud these organizations for advancing the principles of free enterprise.”
Accreditation is the only national program that recognizes chambers for their effective organizational procedures and community involvement. In order to receive Accreditation, a chamber must meet minimum standards in their operations and programs, including areas of governance, government affairs, and technology. Out of the nine areas that are rated, the Plano Chamber received a perfect score in four areas.
“Our organization continues to focus on the needs of our membership and business community. We strive to continue to offer the most relevant and timely programming, excellent customer service, and a value in membership that is second to none. I am pleased that our City of Excellence now has a "Chamber of Excellence" that it can be proud of. We have continued to see growth in the number of business memberships and are grateful for the trust and confidence that the business community has put in our staff and leadership.” said Jamee Jolly, President/CEO.
Chairman of the Board Al Valente added, “We are honored and proud of this designation. This is the culmination of countless hours from staff, current and previous board members, and members of the Chamber and the community.” Current officers of the Plano Chamber include:
Al Valente, Bell & Valente, LLC, Chairman of the Board
Kim Moore, Strasburger & Price, LLC, Chair-Elect of the Board

Local chambers are rated Accredited, 3-Stars, 4-Stars, or 5-Stars. The final determination is made by the Accrediting Board, a committee of U.S. Chamber board members.
