Plano Chamber Welcomes New Leadership, Shares Updates on
Local and State Business Climate at Annual Meeting
PLANO, TX – January 5, 2018 – The Plano Chamber of Commerce will commemorate another year of service to its members and the Plano community during its annual meeting on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. This meeting is part of the Plano First Quarterly Luncheon Series, sponsored by Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Plano. It will be held at the Plano Event Center, 2000 E. Spring Creek Parkway, Plano, TX 75074.
The luncheon will open with remarks from 2017 Board Chair Craig Perry, who will highlight the Chamber’s accomplishments in 2017, including recognition as a finalist for Chamber of the Year, presented by the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives.
Perry will then pass the gavel to the 2018 Board Chair Jeff Beckley. Beckley is Managing Principal at Beckley CPA, PC and will bring experience gained over 13 years of Plano Chamber membership to the position.
“Jeff Beckley has built his business with the resources provided by the Plano Chamber. His experience as a member, as well as the immediate past chair for our public policy committee, has prepared him for the role of Board Chair,” states Jamee Jolly, Plano Chamber President/CEO.
Beckley will introduce the 2018 leadership, including the five new Board of Directors members and 19 returning members. He will also share highlights from the Chamber’s new strategic plan, which it has adopted for 2018-2020.
“I am excited to work this year with Jeff on implementing the Chamber’s recently approved strategic plan,” says Jolly. “He has a great understanding from the member perspective on how each of the Chamber’s programs, products, and services help our members achieve success.”
A highlight of the luncheon will be member recognition, including longevity awards, which recognize significant Chamber membership anniversaries; Rookie of the Year, which honors a noteworthy Chamber member in their first year of membership; and Ambassador Awards, which are presented to outstanding leaders within the Ambassador Club.
The luncheon will include remarks by featured speaker Jeff Moseley. Moseley is Chief Executive Officer of the Texas Association of Business (TAB), the largest business association in Texas, representing over 2800 businesses, from major corporations to small start-ups. Combined, those businesses employ over 2.5 million Texans and drive the economic engine of the state.
Moseley will share unique insights into the Texas business climate gained from his leadership with TAB, as well as share details on how Texas businesses continue to create more and better jobs for all Texans.
“Mr. Moseley’s experience with chambers and regional organizations has provided him a unique perspective, which he brings to the role of CEO with the Texas Association of Business,” says Jolly. “The 84th Legislative Session was tough for business. It is more important than ever that our Texas business community unites on issues that will impact economic development and job growth in our state.”
