Plano Chamber Pauses Events
The Plano Chamber will suspend all events and meetings through the end of March. Additional event postponements and announcements will be made weekly. Please check the Plano Chamber website for the most up to date event and meeting information.
The Plano Chamber staff is working remotely, but all of us can be reached by email or phone, should you have any questions. It is highly encouraged to check in with a staff member before assuming a meeting is taking place. We are working to move things to virtual or call-in options as appropriate.
The following note was sent to the membership on Friday, March 13, in an effort to support our local, state and federal officials' efforts to slow the spread of Covid-19.
In light of recent health-related concerns, I am reaching out to update you on the Plano Chamber's policy regarding the novel coronavirus known as COVID-19.
Our top priority is the safety of our staff, investors, members and visitors and the long-term strength of our economy. To that end, we have compiled a list of resources to promote the safety of your workforce and the continuity of your business during this time. Please share these resources with others in your circle of influence.
The Chamber is also taking steps to reduce the opportunities for the spread of germs. The Chamber is now a handshake-free zone, and, in partnership with the City of Plano, we are posting signage throughout the community to encourage elbow bumps and proper hand-washing techniques.
We are also postponing the remaining events and committee meetings in March. We will decide future events on a weekly basis. In addition, we ask that all guests of the Chamber in the coming weeks not enter our office if they are sick or have recently traveled to any of the affected areas where coronavirus is prevalent. Thank you for respecting our efforts to keep everyone safe and healthy.
Our team will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as needed. As a valuable member of our community, we ask that you join our efforts to keep our workforce healthy, support our local businesses whenever possible, and work with our respected public health officials in the coming days and weeks.
Please reach out with any questions regarding our policy. We're here to help you and your business stay informed and safe.
