PLANO CHAMBER OF COMMERCE RECOGNIZED FOR MEDIA & COMMUNICATIONS EXCELLENCE

June 28, 2017 (League City, TX) - Local chambers from across the state of Texas convened Wednesday, June 20, 2017 for the Texas Chamber of Commerce Executives (TCCE) Annual Excellence Awards.

The awards honor organizations for exceptional efforts in marketing, communications, and media outreach. Awards are judged in seven categories: Chamber Map, Brochure, Magazine or Community Guide, Print/Electronic Newsletter, Chamber Website, Social Media Marketing & Communications, and Traditional Marketing Campaign.

In the category of Outstanding Chamber Map, the Plano Chamber was honored as one of the best in Texas, winning second place.

"This competition brings out the best of the best from chambers of commerce in Texas," said Paige Michel, TCCE Vice-Chairman of Communications whose division oversees the process. "The process is rigorous and quite competitive, given the number of entries and the exceptional work presented by each. A victory tonight truly indicates the Plano Chamber of Commerce is one of the best in 2017 in Outstanding Chamber Maps."

The overall competition had more than 200 entries from which the best were judged by panels of experts. "This prestigious honor is cause for the staff, members, and community to celebrate," said RaDonna Hessel, 2017 TCCE Board Chairman and CEO of the Grapevine Chamber of Commerce. "This type of recognition is indicative of the great work, creativity, and innovation that exists in these chambers."

"The Chamber is often the voice of the community," Hessel continued. "By winning this award, the Plano Chamber can be held as an example of the best at promoting the Chamber, its businesses, and providing excellent information to people in Plano."
