Carole Greisdorf Selected for Leadership Plano's 2019 Distinguished Leadership Award
 
March 13, 2019 (Plano, TX) - Leadership Plano is proud to announce that Carole Greisdorf is the recipient of its prestigious 2019 Distinguished Leadership Award. The award will be formally presented at a public reception to be held at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, April 22nd at the Courtyard Theater in downtown Plano sponsored by Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Plano. The Distinguished Leadership Award (DLA) is presented annually to a Leadership Plano alumnus who has made significant and notable contributions to the betterment of the community.
 
For more than 25 years, Carole Greisdorf has served as an outstanding leader in Plano, advocating for the arts as well as for the education and safety of Plano's youth. Currently, she consults with the Art Centre of Plano. She moved to Plano in 1992, from Volusia County, Florida, to serve as the Special Assistant to the Superintendent of Schools in the Plano Independent School District.
 
Carole is a founding member and past-president of the Sci-Tech Discovery Center, a nonprofit that promotes active exploration of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM.) She has served on the Collin County Children's Advocacy Center Board and the Advocacy Center's Advisory Committee. She is a lifetime member of the Texas and National PTAs, a lifetime member of the National Council of Jewish Women, and a former officer of the Board of Directors of Plano Youth Leadership.
 
Carole is a sustaining member of the Junior League of Collin County and is Sustaining Advisor to the JLCC Diversity and Inclusion Committee. She has also served on the President's Sustaining Advisory Council.
 
A graduate of Leadership Plano, Carole served as Chair of the Executive Board. She is also a graduate of Leadership Texas. Carole served as Leadership Plano's Program Director from 2005-2007 and again from 2014-2018.
 
Carole received the Athena Award in 2003, was named a Top Ten Woman of Collin County in 2015. In 2019, the Junior League of Collin County recognized her as one of Five "Selfless Women to Remember" in the Gittings 90th Anniversary Portrait Exhibition.
 
Carole has been married for 54 years to Howard. They have two grown children, Eric (married to Lisa) and Steven (married to Karen), and four grandchildren, Sarah, Katherine, Aaron, and Samantha.
